TourTask for WordPress

The TourTask plugin for WordPress lets you embed your real-time booking system — and an optional chat widget — directly on your WordPress site with a simple shortcode. Availability, bookings, and payments all happen live, in sync with your TourTask business portal.

Before you start

You will need:

• A WordPress site you administer (WordPress 5.0 or newer).
• A TourTask account.
• Your Business ID and Business token, found under Website integrations in your TourTask business portal.

The plugin itself is free; standard TourTask platform fees apply for using the service.

1. Install the plugin

1. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New.
2. Search for TourTask.
3. Click Install Now, then Activate.

2. Connect your TourTask account

1. Open Website integrations in your TourTask business portal and copy your Business ID and Business token.
2. In WordPress, go to TourTask → Settings.
3. Paste the Business ID and Business token. Settings are saved automatically.

3. Add your storefront to a page

1. Go to TourTask → Shortcode and choose your options.
2. Copy the generated shortcode — for a standard activities page it is simply [tourtask].
3. Edit the page where your activities should appear, paste the shortcode, and publish.

The Shortcode helper lets you tailor the embed:

• Page type — a normal Activities page, or Shore excursions for cruise passengers.
• Language — force the storefront into a specific language instead of following the visitor’s.
• Tour category IDs — show only selected categories.
• Service area ID — scope the storefront to a single service area.

Optional: site-wide chat widget

In TourTask → Settings, enable Site-wide chat widget to add a floating chat launcher to every page, so visitors can reach you from anywhere — independent of the booking shortcode.

Optional: layout adjustments

If the booking system does not sit flush with your theme, the Force full width option makes it fill the page width. Under Advanced, you can also tell TourTask which element is your site header so the floating cart bar sticks correctly beneath it.

Data and privacy

The plugin loads the TourTask booking and chat interfaces from TourTask’s servers and exchanges booking data with the TourTask API using your Business ID and Business token. Using TourTask is subject to our Terms and Privacy policy.
